Canadian Customer Care Program from Misumi USA

Ship Prepay and Add for your shipment and receive a standard $4.90 brokerage fee. The $4.90 brokerage fee is encompassed within the Freight charge on the invoice.

CCC Program

MISUMI offers the Canadian Customer Care (CCC) Program intended to save Canadian customers on brokerage fees associated with US to Canada shipments. The program is designed to set a standard brokerage fee of $4.90 USD for all ground shipments. This cost savings effort is a result of customer feedback stating that although the product pricing was competitive the brokerage fees were becoming a financial burden to many MISUMI USA, Inc. customers.

The logistics of the program involve utilizing collective shipments to Canada, which allows MISUMI to charge a standard $4.90 USD brokerage fee per ground shipment. Before the program, brokerage fees varied per shipment and customers paid up to 10 times the $4.90 USD standard rate amount for ground shipments. MISUMI USA, Inc. estimates that standardizing the rate could save its customers up to 90% in brokerage fees on an annual basis. “What this really comes down to is reducing the costs to our customers and doing it in a way where the customer will not see any change in the level of shipping service they receive from MISUMI,” stated Logistics Manager, Pam Reger.

Other savings come in the form of simplifying the administration overhead for the customer. Previously the customer would receive an invoice from MISUMI for shipping and a separate invoice from the shipping carrier for the customs, duties and tax charges. However, with the CCC Program customers will receive one invoice from MISUMI encompassing all of these charges.

In summary:

  • Cost to the customer: Standardized brokerage fee of $4.90 per ground shipment.
  • How to take advantage of this offer: The customer should specify “prepay and add” for their shipments. Please note this offer does not apply when the customer ships via collect or third party.
  • Please note: $4.90 covers the brokerage fee only. Standard GST Taxes, Duties and Freight charges will be invoiced in addition to the $4.90. The $4.90 brokerage fee is encompassed within the Freight charge on the invoice. Savings described are total costs conventionally billed separately, compared with when they are consolidated by MISUMI. It does not imply that the direct invoice amount from MISUMI will decrease.
